I am influenced by my memories, my grief, and the formative years of girlhood. My interest lies in exploring the balance between innocence and the increasing awareness of identity. Each work is about finding peace in one’s life and within relationships, whether it is with friends, family, partners, or even with yourself. I connect to the lonely, the defeated, and the ever-hopeful romantic, pulling from my own experiences in the cycles of relationships and their processes of beginning, ending, or continuing. My art encompasses the feeling of heartbreak and vulnerability. I reflect on the realization that sometimes a truly special thing in your life is only supposed to exist for a moment in time. Yet, there’s an exciting sense of possibility in knowing that something entirely new is on the horizon.
